whimsy

i often forget that i have been a lonely person more than not.

when i was younger i liked to read and write stories on our bulky, grey-white Compaq. i liked riding my bike and climbing trees and running really fast down hills, so that it seemed like I couldn't even stop by the time I'd reach the bottom.

i made houses out of moss in the backyard because i made-believe that fairies existed. they would come live in the houses and then they would be my friend. then I would have someone to talk to, and I wouldn't be so lonely anymore.

i was reading asofterworld and there was an ad for this etsy store.

i don't know, looking at these made me remember weird days where we would go on family bike rides. the sun was so bright and all i can remember is how happy I felt and how I would never get a day older. I would just stay four forever, making motes in our turtle sandbox and helping mulch the garden with my Little Mermaid bucket. we'd run through the sprinkler until my hair was lighter than my skin.

and mom would bake cookies and we'd paint our toenails technicolor.
