when i look at you,

i see some kind of
allegiance,
some kind of love for
an idea wherein family really means something.
work is not an option.
size is not important.
and beautiful things can be
almost negligible,
like the thinness of a lip
or a scar wrapped about a finger.

so i try to exile this
growing tumor of envy,
because you didn't make me
more complicated, didn't
contract my large being
in corners.

it is just that
sometimes,
i want to feel like a part
of that simplicity
i have never known.Align Right
